Mutter utter simplicity
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."
Henry David Thoreau, 1854.

The perfect watch
It seems that the perfect watch is impossible to find. I'm not asking for much, just:
- Ana-Digital w/ a seconds hand
- Alarm Setting
- Bright LED light

Rain
I've anticipated the rain. I checked last week and the forecast is that it would rain until Friday. I hate to put such a long pause in building the cabin but there is no way to do anything in the short dry breaks throughout the day. Unfortunately, I feel a bit under the weather as well. In the meantime, I have a lot of studying to do. It's a bit difficult to focus because being sick is sapping up all of my energy--hopefully it passes soon.
Sooty Pots
I know many people that are reluctant to use their pots in wood stoves because of the soot. It is especially true if it's an expensive titanium pot.
I've discovered that orange pumice hand cleaners work really well in taking off soot. Its texture acts as an abrasive to remove pretty much anything and everything. I know that construction workers, mechanics, and policemen (or rather, criminals--to wash off fingerprinting paint) all use it. It is available in any auto parts store or home improvement store.
